Reading Intervention & Support
We provide targeted reading intervention and support through the use of a multi-sensory, systematic, structured literacy approach based on Orton Gillingham Methods.
All of our instruction is based on The Science of Reading and Neurocognitive Research on how the developing brain learns to read.
Students have fun as they engage in direct learning, play literacy-based games, and develop critical decoding (sounding out words) and encoding (spelling words) skills. Students work on fluency and comprehension exercises and track their progress.
Some of the programs we use include:
- Orton Gillingham
- Wilson Reading Program
- Spire
- Great Leaps Fluency
- Heggerty
- And Many More!

Summer Reading Discussion Groups
Put together a small group of friends who are reading the same novels for their summer reading assignments and we provide a teacher-led discussion classes on the novel. If you don't have a small group, we can provide this instruction one on one.
These sessions are designed to focus on building reading comprehension skills and on learning how to pick out what is important while reading.
Each session will focus on assigned chapters and include discussion, review, and summaries of the reading material.
We will also help students navigate their summer reading assignments (answering questions, writing summaries, annotating, projects, or writing essays). We do not do any of the work for the students, but provide the space, time, and direction to help them complete these assignments.
